Jack and Pedro’s weekend in New York
A couple of weeks ago we went to the BAMKids Film Festival in Brooklyn, NY, where three of our films were screened. And best of all – Jack and Pedro themselves visited the festival!
We first thought of taking them in the hand luggage, until someone pointed out the similarity in appearance between Plasticine and Semtex…
The BAMKids festival is noteable for the great focus on kids – every day of the festival there are around 2000 visitors, and there are lot of activities and live shows between the screenings. And after each screening of our films director Staffan Erlandsson was there for Questions and Answers from the audience: “Where is the little blue bird now?” “What is the bird singing?” “How do you make them talk?” ”Why don’t the eyes mix with the clay?”
That’s when Jack & Pedro had their time in the spotlight! It was very difficult to “see but not touch” at such a close range, but the kids were strong-willed and did a great job.
This year our little bird Ossian was also chosen for the poster and brochures for the festival, so he was really seen everywhere!

INNIKI joins Röda roboten animation!
We are happy to announce that Annika Bergström, known as INNIKI, joins Röda roboten animation!
Annika is an incredibly skilled animator who masters both classic craftsmanship and digital production. We have been working with her for 7 years in different projects, for example in our clay animated short films about the characters “Jack and Pedro” and the film version of the book “Boo and Baa Have Company”, and now she is also partner and co-owner of Röda roboten animation.
In her company INNIKI, Annika has designed, directed and animated a wide range of films for commercial purposes as well as her own creative ones. For example a big bunch of info spots for Försäkringskassans Föräldraguiden and a series of commercials for the home decoration store Granit. We have put up a selection of her stuff here. Under “projects” you’ll find that our portfolio now consists of both INNIKI and Röda roboten productions. So Enjoy!

One episode of our latest TV-show for the Swedish Television is now available for you here on our site, with English subtitles.
Kom Ketchup så går vi is a 13 x 1 min series produced, directed and animated by Röda roboten for SVT, 2011. It was also pre-sold to YLE-FST. It is based on interviews with children telling their favourite jokes ( the title translates as “Catch up!” from the famous joke), which we have turned into talking food products. The lovely music in the intro was written and performed by Andreas Hasse Hansson.
